Alumina

Alumina is the most important oxide-ceramic material and a significant module in our production programme. Its most outstanding properties in keeping with DIN VDE 0035/ DIN EN 60 672:
  • extreme hardness
  • great to very great strength
  • high to very high thermal conductivity
  • very good insulating properties
  • very resistant to wear
  • very high chemical resistance
  • high to max. refractoriness

Mechanically, chemically, thermally, electrically. you look at it.
Alumina is simply the tops however.

These strengths pre-determine its use, for instance, in trigger insulators, pressure-resistant regulator parts, sliding and seal rings, axles, shafts, bearing shells and aerial shafts.
