Forsterite

Forsterite is a polycrystalline material. Its high phase fraction means that forsterite has a great diversity of beneficial product features. However since the phase fraction is basically similar to that of Steatite C 221, Sembach does not often use forsterite.

Its prime material properties:

• high mechanical load capacity
• high thermal expansion coefficient
• effective thermal insulator
• extremely good electrical insulation property

No products made from forsterite are currently being produced.
